A week ago, I received an order for a Christmas-Inspired cake. My client gave me a basic idea of what she wanted and I instantly knew what look I wanted to go for. I set to work baking the layers of the cake.
The client wanted an 8 inch single tier vanilla almond flavored cake with our classic buttercream. Once I frosted and layered the cake, I crumb-coated the outside of the cake with the classic buttercream once more and created a beautiful ribbed texture along the edge of the cake to give it some depth.
Once the cake was frosted, I splattered some gold edible paint along the ribbed texture and then piped the branches and pine cones with colored classic buttercream. I applied small holly-berries all over the branches and added a little more gold to the tips of the pine cones.
This cake was such a joy to create (it really put me in the holiday mood!) and I hope to get many beautiful holiday-inspired orders like this in the future!
